How old do you have to be to get a debit card?

I'm 12 and I want a debit card so I dont lose my money, i always wanted to keep money but i always spent it. Im still a kid I know.|||18 to most likely open it by yourself. Ask a parent/guardian to help you get one, they will still manage your account, but you will have the debit card for yourself.|||Old enough my six year old sister had one till she bought a hot tub and my dad get really mad and took it away and burned it. :D
