Can a debit card purchase be refunded in cash?

I bought something with a debit card which I'm getting a refund for, but I don't want to wait the few days it takes to transfer back into my account. Am I able to ask to be refunded by cash?|||You can ask, but very few stores allow this. Most stores require that refunds are given via the original payment method or as store credit, but usually they only give cash if you paid in cash.|||You can ask but it's unlikely that the shop will agree. The majority of shops will only refund via means of purchase, i.e. credit/debit card.
