i wanna know how to apply for a debit card mainly but i dunno how. So can someone give me step by step instructions on how. When a bank gives you a credit card, that means you don't have to have any money in the bank; they are extending credit to you based on your promise to repay what you borrow. A debit card is basically an ATM card with a credit card logo on it that allows it to be used at stores but the money is directly withdrawn out of your checking account. You cannot have a debit card without a checking account.
If you want a debit card, just go to the bank to open a checking account and tell them you want a debit card.
As for which bank to go to, you haven't said where you live so it's difficult to answer that question.
