Whats the difference between a bank account and debit card on paypal?

I have verified my bank account which is with barclays. The same and only bank account I have a debit card with barclays which is connect card. So why would i need to verify my bank account and bank debit card aswell?? Whats the difference? Thanks|||Hi there, good question.

Your bank account is typically your primary checking account.

The debit card that you applied for through PayPal, when used to make a purchase or cash advance, takes the money directly from your PayPal account.

If your PayPal account has enough money in the account to cover the purchase, your checking account has nothing to do with the transaction. However, if your PayPal balance does not cover the entire amount of the purchase, the remainder of the money will come out of your checking account, IF that is the account you attached to your PayPal account when you applied for the PayPal Check Card.

Hope this helps, have a great day!|||Although its the same account, the debit card uses the card number and the bank account uses your account number as well as your routing number. That is the only reason why I would think you need to verify both.
