What can i gain from using my debit card alot?

well, i have had a debit card for a year now, and i have been making alot of payments on it, everytime we buy groceries, my parents put the money in my card and we use my card, so that way the bank can see that i have good credit

what can that help me in though? what can i gain?|||A debit card that uses your own money.. You aren't going to gain anything if you are using debit.. Maybe if you are using the credit on it. Your credit will improve because you are making all of your payments on time. You are just using your own money, not any credit whatsoever. (your parents money.)|||A debit card is not an extension of credit and is not reported to the credit bureau. It has no impact on your credit unless you overdraft and don't pay. Then the debt could be turned over to a collection agency who would report the defaulted debt to the credit bureau.

It sounds like you are talking about a pre-paid card and not a debit card attached to a bank account. Pre-paid cards tend to have lots of charges -- charges to add more money, monthly fees, transaction fees, etc. Might be better to check into a regular bank account with a debit card.|||Some companies have reward programs for using your debit card a certain amount of times a month or you get a percentage of the purchases. Using a debit card doesn't improve your credit score, only a credit card can do that. If your parents put money on a card are you talking about a secured credit card? If so, those can build your credit. This will help you later so that you can buy a car or a home.|||you have to get a REAL credit card

other wise there is nothing to gain
